Their effective field goal percentage was 37%, with a 36.4% mark on two-pointers and 25% from three-point range, hitting 6 of 24 attempts.</p> <p>Eric Dailey Jr. and Lazar Stefanovic each scored 13 points, with Stefanovic hitting 3 of 5 threes. Sebastian Mack added 12 points, shooting 60% overall. The Terriers managed 7 offensive rebounds and 10 assists, while shooting 66.7% from the free-throw line.</p><p>Boston gave up 71 points, with the opposing team shooting 40% from the field on 24/60 shooting. They allowed 19 two-point field goals on 38 attempts, a 50% success rate.</p> <p>From beyond the arc, Boston held the other team to 5/22 shooting, or 22%. They also sent them to the line 21 times, where they converted 18 free throws, shooting 85%. Boston allowed 11 offensive rebounds.</p>

When we handicap football we're always looking for that edge that's outside of the box, such as look-ahead spots and coast-to-coast travel, as well as even revenge angles. And yet, many people overlook those things in baseball, choosing to focus on the numbers. If that works for you, then don't change a thing.

However, here are some <a href="http://bangthebook.com/situational-handicapping-techniques/"><strong>situational handicapping techniques</strong></a> to consider going forward, especially if you're looking to add to your repertoire. One of my favorites is the "first game home" angle. Teams that have been on the road for any length of time tend to struggle in their first home game coming back. That would be especially true with no days off, and clearly even better if it involves long flights.

Let's remember that the players are human, too, and many of them have families (kids) that haven't seen them for a week or more. So, they fly home late and have to be at the park the next afternoon, all the while dealing with the same issues you and I would in that situation. It's called life.

Another one of my favorites is home teams that are about to get swept. Conventional thinking has most people assuming that the home team won't lose the entire series, but sweeping a series is far from uncommon. Plus, because most novice bettors will indeed bet on the home team in that spot, there is often value in taking the road team.

What's also proven to make me money is the bounce-back situation. I don't mean the team rebounding from a loss, but a starting pitcher. It's all about adjustments, and more often than not the pitchers make them more frequently than the hitters. If a <a href="http://bangthebook.com/pitch-counts-important/"><strong>particular pitcher was hit hard against a team</strong></a>, the next outing people tend to assume that will happen again. In practical application, the reverse is quite often true.

Let's look at double-headers for a minute, especially when they are the last game(s) of a series. Whether a team won or lost one or both isn't important, but what is of relevance is fatigue. Assuming that the bullpens were used to any extent, the teams will be at a disadvantage the following day.

Now, I would grant you that we shouldn't automatically bet on or against these angles, but they are something that should factor in. To expound, I would not blindly bet against the team playing after a double-header, but what it would do is preclude me from taking them. The same can be said about the "first game back" in that I would auto-fade a team, but it would more than likely stop me from taking them.

Remember, winning takes avoiding mistakes just as much (if not more) than finding winners.

They have gone just 2-8 in their last 10 road games.</p><p>Wisconsin has not been a strong ATS team this season, going just 14-18. On the road, their ATS mark is just 3-9. Over their last 10 games as the favorite, the Badgers have gone just 3-7 vs. the spread.</p><p>Today's over/under line of 136.5 is lower than the average over/under line in Wisconsin's games this year (138.7). So far, 12 of their games have finished with fewer points than today's OU line. In their last three games, the over/under record is 3-0 and the average scoring total in those games is 144 points.</p><p>Wisconsin is coming off a good offensive performance, putting up 87 points vs. Maryland. This figure is more than their season average of 74.8 points per game. On the offensive front, the Badgers have a season-long field goal percentage of 46%, ranking 94th nationally. When it comes to three-point shooting, they are ranked 144th in terms of percentage and 228th in three-pointers made.</p><p>Coming into today's game, the Wisconsin defense is giving up an average of 69.3 points per contest. Against Maryland, the Badgers' defense gave up 56 points and did a good job not fouling. At home this year, Northwestern is 11-7-1 vs. the spread.</p><p>Northwestern's over/under record for the season is 19-12 and today's line of 136.5 is lower than the average over/under line in their games this year (137.4). Over their last three games, the average scoring total is 141 points compared to their season average of 143.1. So far, 11 of their games have finished with fewer points than today's OU line.</p><p>The Northwestern offense is coming off a game in which they scored 90 points vs. Minnesota. Overall their field goal percentage was 58.6% while connecting on 10 threes. Leading Northwestern in scoring vs. Minnesota was Brooks Barnhizer with his 23 points. Boo Buie also added 23 points for the Wildcats.</p><p>Coming into today's game, the Northwestern defense is giving up an average of 69.0 points per contest. In terms of field goal percentage allowed, Northwestern's defense has allowed opponents to shoot 45.0% from the field, including a three-point shooting percentage allowed of 36.5% this season.</p>
