The NASCAR Xfinity Series is back in session after taking last week off for the Easter holiday. This week’s stop at Talladega Superspeedway for the MoneyLion 300 is the only stop at the Alabama track for the Xfinity Series. The Cup Series returns in October during the playoffs, but the Xfinity Series playoffs take a break that week.

This is the third of four Dash 4 Cash events, so you won’t find Cup Series guys in the field this week. You’ll see them again on May 25 in Charlotte.

<h5><strong>Cash Bandicoot</strong></h5>
As mentioned, we’re dashing for cash for the third race in a row. The Alsco 300 at Bristol, not to be confused with the Alsco 300 at Charlotte or the Alsco 300 at Kentucky, was the first. Christopher Bell won that. The second was the ToyotaCare 250 at Richmond, which Cole Custer won while driving a Ford Mustang. Now we’ve got another one.

The Dash 4 Cash format prohibits Cup Series guys from racing and the field is usually limited to points-eligible guys, though we have seen guys like Ryan Preece and Harrison Burton in those races. There are a few guys that are not full-time points drivers in the field this week, like Brett Moffitt and Jeffrey Earnhardt. I actually missed it last week, but Elliott Sadler was in the field, as he has a two-race deal to run at Richmond and Las Vegas.

<h5><strong>The Field</strong></h5>
This is interesting. Justin Allgaier is the favorite at +500. Unless Kyle Busch or another Cup Series guy has been in the field, Christopher Bell has been the favorite. With the plate race and a track that does require a certain level of expertise, Allgaier, the most senior member of the points-eligible crowd, is the favorite.

Allgaier has had two really good runs the last two events. He led the most laps and won the first two stages at Bristol before a cut tire ended his run. He won the first stage last week, but ultimately finished third. He still has to be happy with where his team is sitting and he was second at Daytona to open the year in that plate race. He was third here last year, eighth in 2018 when he led the most laps, and second in 2016. You certainly have to respect what he has accomplished.

That leaves Bell and Tyler Reddick as co-second favorites at +650. Bell was 12th in this race last year. He’s good on intermediate tracks and the 1.5-milers, but this does present some challenges for him. He was third in the summer race at Daytona last year and sixth in the opening race this year. He was second in his final truck race at Talladega. It’s still hard to bet against him where he is and the Toyota Supra has run very well for the Joe Gibbs team this year.

Reddick has five straight top-five finishes and has a sixth at Atlanta. He actually won the second stage in Las Vegas in his lowest finish of the season. Reddick does have a Daytona win to his name. He’s been 20th and eighth in his two Talladega starts. I don’t love him here and would look to take Bell, Allgaier, and even Custer over him in matchups, though. He’s actually finding his groove on bigger tracks lately.

Custer is +750. The California native runs a Ford and Fords have done well at Talladega. See Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski for proof of that. He was only ninth last year, but he got much stronger as the season went along and he’s been really good since turning a corner at Charlotte last year. He’s already got the two wins this year. I know the plate tracks aren’t his thing, but Fords run well here, so I’d give him a nod in matchups.

<h5><strong>The Best of the Rest</strong></h5>
This is definitely the type of race where you want to go price hunting down the board. Spencer Gallagher won this race last year when it was the Sparks Energy 300. He was +3350 when last year’s preview was posted. A lot of things can happen here with inexperienced drivers and just the overall nature of Talladega.

The hard part is finding out who those guys could be. Furthermore, oddsmakers know that, so guys like Moffitt, Austin Cindric, and Brandon Jones are all only +1100. While Cindric and Jones are better this year than they were last year, their prices by comparison were +1350 last year. Jones actually finished second last year. Jeffrey Earnhardt is +1300. John Hunter Nemechek and Chase Briscoe at +1550 and +1650, respectively. Briscoe was +3300 last year.

Daniel Hemric, who made the leap to the big leagues, led the most laps and won the first stage before finishing 23rd last year. Don’t fall victim to Noah Gragson, who was fourth last year, but that was in the #18 of Joe Gibbs Racing, not the #9 of JR Motorsports.

<h5><strong>Picks</strong></h5>
Boy, this is a tough one. Allgaier has had one issue after another this season, so it seems only fair that he gets this win. I’m not going to take a +500 favorite in a race like this, though. In fact, I won’t even take Bell or Reddick here.

I’d have to at least start in the 10/1 range and that means going with a guy like Brandon Jones at 11/1. The absolute lowest price I would entertain is Custer at +750 because he’s got a Ford and Fords have run well in these plate races, but Custer also isn’t on Logano or Keselowski’s level. It’s Jones and then looking at some Xfinity Series matchups.

<p>After trailing 29-24 at halftime, Bethune-Cookman matched Nebraska point-for-point in the 2nd half, with both teams scoring 34 points. The total points for the game were 121, well under the O/U line of 154.5.</p><p>In their latest game, Bethune-Cookman struggled offensively, scoring just 58 points while shooting 35.5% from the field. Their effective field goal percentage was 41.9%, with two-point shooting at 36.1% and three-point shooting at 34.6% (9/26).</p> <p>Juwan Gary contributed 11 points and 9 rebounds, shooting 4/10 from the field. Cincinnati Bengals vs Los Angeles Chargers Betting Pick & Prediction 11/17/24

<p>The Jets and Rangers are set to face off at 7:00 ET on ESPN+. The Rangers will host the game at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY. The Jets covered the puck line as -1.5 goal favorites, and the total of 11 goals easily surpassed the pre-game line of 6.5 goals.</p> 

<p>After falling behind 2-0 in the first period, Winnipeg rallied with seven different players scoring in the game. The Jets took the lead for good when Alex Iafallo scored at 15:57 in the third period, making it 4-3.</p><p>Winnipeg’s offense came alive in their 7-4 win over Tampa Bay, with seven different players finding the net. After trailing early, Vladislav Namestnikov got the Jets on the board in the first period with his third goal of the season. Logan Stanley followed with his first goal of the year, while Alex Iafallo added his first on a power play in the third period.</p> <p>Nikolaj Ehlers scored his ninth goal, which came on an empty net. Cole Perfetti, with his fourth goal, also found the empty net. The Jets took 34 shots on goal and recorded 10 assists, with Josh Morrissey contributing his 13th assist on Perfetti’s goal.</p><p>Defensively, the Jets struggled early, giving up the first two goals of the game and allowing the Lightning to tie the score at 3-3 and 4-4. However, they held Tampa Bay scoreless after the 6:51 mark of the 3rd period, leading to a 7-4 win. Connor Hellebuyck made 26 saves with an 86.7% save percentage, while the defense added 5 takeaways and 31 hits.</p><h3>Can New York Live Up to the Hype at Home?</h3><p>The Rangers improved to 9-3-1 with a 5-2 road win over the Islanders. Entering the game as -1.5 goal favorites, the Rangers covered the puck line with ease. The total was set at 6 goals, and the teams combined for 7, pushing the game over the line.</p> 

<p>Four different Rangers players contributed to the scoring, with Artemi Panarin leading the way with two goals. The Rangers built a 2-0 lead before the Islanders got on the board, and Panarin’s second goal, an empty-netter, sealed the victory.</p><p>Artemi Panarin netted his 9th goal of the season on an empty net and also scored his 8th earlier in the second period. Chris Kreider opened the scoring with his 8th goal, which came shorthanded. Vincent Trocheck added his 4th goal, while Adam Edstrom scored for the first time this season.</p> <p>The Rangers took 40 shots on goal and recorded 14 giveaways. Mika Zibanejad contributed with his 7th and 8th assists of the season.</p><p>Defensively, the Rangers will look to carry their momentum into the next game after allowing just two goals to the Islanders. Igor Shesterkin recorded 35 saves with a 94.6% save percentage. The defense also contributed 10 takeaways, 19 hits, and 18 blocks. The only downside was a late goal allowed at the end of the second period, but the Rangers' defense shut out the Islanders in the third.</p>

Winnipeg Jets vs New York Rangers Betting Pick & Prediction 11/12/24

<strong>Value Picks</strong>

<strong>Kevin Chappell ($7,800) – </strong>Kevin Chappell has not played well of late at all, as he’s missed four of his last five cuts, though, in his defense, he’s been pretty close to the cut line in some of those spots. He shot even par at the PLAYERS, which is solid at TPC Sawgrass, but it wasn’t enough. It wasn’t that long ago that Chappell was seventh at the Arnold Palmer. It wasn’t that long ago that Chappell was fourth at the FedEx St. Jude Classic. It was last year, in fact, as he was one of five players to be in the 60s over all 72 holes. The others were Whee Kim, Phil Mickelson, Steve Wheatcroft, and Dominic Bozzelli. Chappell was also 22nd back in 2015. He didn’t play this event in 2016.

<strong>Chez Reavie ($7,600) – </strong>Old Reliable Chez Reavie has made 13 out of 16 cuts this season and is a great buy this week at TPC Southwind for this low price. Reavie is now two weeks removed from the MC in Fort Worth, which came a week after he withdrew from the AT&amp;T. Reavie was fourth last year going 66-65-72-69 and 12th in 2015 with a 70-70-66-68 weekend. He did not play in 2016, so it’s not like he had a bad showing that year. Those are two strong finishes over the last two St. Jude Classics for Reavie, so he better be on your radar this week.

<strong>Stewart Cink ($6,800) – </strong>With this weak of a field, you need to save some money. Stewart Cink is one way to do that. Cink, who has made 11 of 17 cuts this season, has played pretty well at TPC Southwind, even in his golden years on the PGA Tour. Cink was 10th last year with a 64-68-69-73. He seemed to tire a little bit in the heat as the week went along, which is a concern this week as well, but he shot a respectable 68-70-69-71 back in 2015. This isn’t a bad spot to take a shot with the old man.

<strong>Harris English ($8,100) – </strong>The inflated price tag on Harris English is due to his 2013 win, but there is more to it than that for him this week. English was 20th last week at the Fort Worth Invitational, which was a really solid showing. Last year at TPC Southwind, he finished 10th with a final-round 65 to move up the board a bit. He was 26th in 2016, with Sunday dropping him down the board that year. This has been one of his better courses on the PGA Tour, so there is some hope that he can surprise and be up there with some of the leaders on Sunday.

<strong>Kiradech Aphibarnrat ($8,400) – </strong>It really seems like Kiradech Aphibarnrat’s time is coming. He’s still searching for his first PGA Tour victory, but he was fifth at the WGC-Mexico, made it to the quarters of the Match Play event in Texas, was 13th at last week’s Memorial and fifth at the BMW PGA Championship the week before. Aphibarnat is going to get himself one of these PGA Tour titles sooner rather than later. It really doesn’t seem like he would play this event unless he thought he had a shot at winning it.

A lot of players have a lot of motivation this week at the FedEx St. Jude Classic at TPC Southwind. The top 60 in the Official World Golf Ranking automatically get a berth into next week’s U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club. Other players want to roll into that event with some momentum, like tournament favorites Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka, who are going to be in the U.S. Open field regardless. TPC Southwind is one of the most challenging courses on tour, so don’t expect a lot of low scores here this week.

<strong>Value Picks:</strong>

<strong>Chad</strong><strong> Campbell ($7,800) – </strong>Chad Campbell has been pretty consistent at TPC Southwind throughout his career. At the very least, he’s been consistent enough to have on your roster this week. Campbell tied for eighth last year at 7-under, which doesn’t sound great, but it was one shot behind five guys that tied for third. He made the cut in 2014 and finished inside the top 50. His only down year came in 2013, when he still played out all four days, but it came on the heels of finishing third in 2012. He was 10th at the Dean &amp; DeLuca Invitational and 12th at the AT&amp;T Byron Nelson, so he’s quietly playing well.

<strong>Jon Curran ($8,300) – </strong>Imagine the price you could have got Jon Curran at if he hadn’t finished second last week at the Memorial. Curran is one of those players that needs a big showing this weekend in order to get into the U.S. Open. He hasn’t missed a cut since the RBC Heritage, a span of six events. A challenging course like TPC Southwind, especially one with a low par of 70, emphasizes making the cut. Curran did that last year in his only start in Memphis. He finished 53d at 1-over, but finished with his best round on Sunday.

<strong>Jamie Donaldson ($7,800) – </strong>Another player with a lot at stake this week is Jamie Donaldson. Donaldson has not been in good form lately. He missed the cut in his last PGA Tour start and missed the cut in his last European Tour start. He was 10th the week prior at the Irish Open, but he needs a strong showing this week. He’s 64th in the OWGR. That’s an angle that will get a lot of play this week. He did miss the cut here last year, but you can’t question his focus.

<strong>Bobby Wyatt ($7,300) – </strong>Outside of a rough showing at the Wells Fargo, Bobby Wyatt has proven that he belongs. The former Alabama standout used to run neck-and-neck with Jordan Spieth in amateur rankings and it’s fair to assume that he’s come across this course a time or two, or at least a course with a similar design. He was fourth at the Zurich Classic at a TPC course and narrowly missed the cut at the AT&amp;T Byron Nelson in his last start. It’s a tough course, but he has the ability to contend.

<strong>Lee McCoy ($6,700) – </strong>Like Wyatt, it could be a good weekend for recent college players and grads. Lee McCoy was fourth at the Valspar back in early March. He opened with a 74, but once the nerves settled down, he shot 66-69 over the weekend to climb into the top five. This is a tough track for a lot of players, but it might help some of the youngsters because they won’t overthink it. A lot of the new crop can really rip it, so that’s something to consider on a course with some long par 4s.

<strong>Players to Avoid:</strong>

<strong>Luke Donald ($8,700) – </strong>The former #1 player in the world has really struggled for a while now. He made the cut but finished 68th at the Memorial last week, firing 73-78-72 over his final three rounds. He missed the cut at the PLAYERS and really hasn’t been worth anything except for name recognition in about two months. He’s a guy to avoid this week.

<strong>Fabian Gomez ($7,200) – </strong>DFS players are going to see the reigning champion with this extremely reasonable price, but there’s a reason why Gomez is so far down the board. He is gunning for one of those U.S. Open spots, but Gomez missed the cut last week, withdrew at the Dean &amp; DeLuca, and was 74th at the PLAYERS Championship. Course form is a big deal and Gomez has been good here, but he hasn’t been good overall and that’s the noticeable part here.
