UFC Fight Night Preview for July 2024

UFC action returns to Denver this weekend for the first time since 2018, but this has always been a site of some great events. The first few major UFC events took place in the Mile High City, and it’s had a history of delivering epic results.

While there won’t be any major bouts taking place this time around, the action during this upcoming Fight Night should be fun to follow. Here is a look at some of the top bouts of the night, and the best bets that should be made.

Flyweights Ready for Battle

The main event of the night will feature a pair of flyweights that are both looking for a signature win to keep their momentum going. Tracy Cortez will be looking to win in a pinch, but she is the underdog against Rose Namajunas.

Namajunas will be fighting close to home in this bout, and she is the favorite at -205 on Saturday night. Cortez was noble in taking up this fight, but her odds being set at +175 suggest that she is going to struggle in this one.

This should end up being a good matchup, but it’s one that will end up going in the way of Namajunas. Even though Cortez is a proven fighter at this weight class, she will come up short in this bout.

Veterans Ready for Welterweight Matchup

There are some other great fights set to take place on Saturday, including an interesting matchup between a pair of welterweights. Santiago Ponzinibbio is set to take on Muslim Salikhov, and these are two proven fighters in that weight class.

It seems strange that these two fighters have never met up before, but they are set to deliver a great battle on Saturday night. Salikhov is the betting underdog in this fight at +165, and Ponzinibbio is currently favored to win the fights at -190.

Those are some really tight odds for this battle, and that’s why should expect to see a great matchup in this one. Looking for upset picks should always be the goal, and there is a good chance to cash in with this one.

Bet on Salikhov to get it done in the Octagon as he will come away with the win at +165.

Interesting Lightweight Clash

There will be another resident of Denver fighting this weekend as lightweight Drew Dober will be looking to put on a show for his family and friends. He was always scheduled to fight in this event, but he will be joined by Jean Silva on Saturday.

Silva is coming into this fight without much time to prepare, and he also struggled to fight well in his most recent bout. While that might make him feel like an underdog, the odds are nearly identical for him at Dober.

This should be a battle in which both fighters spend time trying to feel out the other fighter, and it will lead to a decision. Take Dober at -109 on Saturday night as fighting at home will give him the slight edge.
