A potential NLCS preview concludes Sunday night when the San Diego Padres (5-4, 2-1 away) visit the Atlanta Braves (6-3, 1-2 home). These are two of the favorites to get out of the National League this season and it has been a great early season series. Below is my MLB pick for San Diego vs Atlanta.

San Diego Padres vs Atlanta Braves Betting Pick

The Pick: Atlanta Braves -116

This game will be played at Truist Park at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 9, 2023.

Why Bet the Atlanta Braves:

✅ Atlanta has struggled in this series, but they still are 15-4 in their last 19 games played at home.

✅ At home, the Braves have beaten San Diego in 15 of their last 23 meetings.

✅ The Padres have struggled with the Braves recently as they are just 7-11 in their 17 matchups.

San Diego Padres Getting it Going

This has been a great series so far and the Padres have taken a 2-1 lead heading into the series finale. San Diego grabbed their first win of the series with a tough 5-4 win on Friday and then took the series lead with an impressive 4-1-win Saturday. The Padres have sputtered a bit out of the gates, but they have an abundance of talent currently on the roster, and more on the way.

Xander Bogaerts is enjoying the start of his Padres career as he leads the team, early on, with a .333 batting average, three home runs, and eight RBIs.

Atlanta Braves Looking for Series Split

Atlanta started off the season red hot, building a 6-1 record, but they now will look to bounce back from their first tough patch of the early season. The Braves started this series with a fun 7-6 win on Thursday, but the Padres have taken control from there. Still, this is a series between two powerhouse teams, and it would not be a surprise if these two teams are battling it out for the pennant.

Matt Olson is having a great start to the season, and he leads the Braves with a .361 batting average, three home runs, and 10 RBIs.
