William & Mary Tribe vs Appalachian State Mountaineers NCAA Basketball Betting Pick & Prediction 11/24/24

<p>At the moment, there are 50 seats in the United States Senate that are occupied by members of the Republican party. The Democrats have 48 seats, and they also more or less control the two independent members. That brings things dead even, except that Vice-President Kamala Harris has a tie-breaking vote, meaning that the GOP has to gain at least one seat in the 2002 elections to assume control.</p>



<p>And there have been high hopes that the candidate who could swing things back the GOP's way was <strong>Herschel Walker</strong>, a Heisman Trophy winner from the University of Georgia who decided to challenge incumbent US Senator Raphael Warnock, who had beaten Kelly Loeffler in a special election two years ago that was marked by a lot of nastiness, including the full participation and protest by the WNBA Players Association, which we might add eventually led to plenty of ill feeling on the part of conservatives toward Brittney Griner, a vocal member of that group who now languishes in a Russian jail.</p>

<p>Can Walker, a hero throughout the state, break through and give the Republicans an advantage again in the Peach State? At <strong><a href="https://www.bangthebook.com/sportsbooks/betonline/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">BetOnline</a></strong>, he is the favorite to win Tuesday's election, but is by no means a solid favorite:</p>



<p><strong>Herschel Walker (R) -165<br>Raphael Warnock (D) +125</strong></p>



<p>This race could hardly be closer. An Emerson College poll had Warnock with a 49-47 edge. The Marist College poll had it dead even at 48 points apiece, so it is truly up for grabs.</p>



<p>And by the way, if neither candidate gets a majority, that creates a runoff election on December 6.</p>



<p>Warnock was a pastor at Martin Luther King Jr.'s Ebenezer Baptist Church. But Walker is the candidate who has tried to take the moral high road. He presented himself as a staunch opponent of abortion, yet two women have stepped forward who have claimed that Walker impregnated them, then paid for their abortions. There have been other controversies, including one where it was revealed that Walker had four children, though he only claimed three.</p>



<p>It has certainly not helped Walker that Donald Trump, for whom he played with the New Jersey Generals in the old USFL, has been an unwavering supporter. The left-leaning media has been relentless in its efforts to discredit the former Georgia running back and ignore any and all skeletons in Warnock's closet.</p>



<p>Some of the statements Walker has made about his opponent have smacked of eccentricity and / or exaggeration. For instance, he has claimed that Warnock "wants to abolish the family. He wants to abolish the police. He wants to abolish the court system. He wants to abolish this United States of America.”</p>



<p>Some Georgia Republicans, who may not be fans of Warnock, have expressed that they would love to support the GOP, but that Walker may not be the most appropriate or prepared candidate.</p>



<p>If you want to take a look at the odds on total Republican seats when the dust clears, it appears that even if Walker doesn't win, the tide may shift somewhere else:</p>

<p>If things don't go completely as planned for the GOP, particularly with a contentious race between Mehmet Oz and John Fetterman in Pennsylvania (where Oz is a -175 favorite), we may not know the definitive answer until December.</p>

<p>Even though the calendar has turned to October, the <a href="https://bangthebook.com/horse-racing">horse racing</a> schedule continues to heat up throughout the United States. There are a couple of race tracks hosting big events this weekend, and that includes Keeneland. </p>



<p>The <strong>Breeders’ Futurity Stakes</strong> is going to be the biggest race of the weekend, and it’s one that will come with some drama. Betting odds for this race have been set, and now is the perfect time to start making some wagers. </p>



<p>Here is a look at some of the early odds to win the Futurity Stakes, and a pick to win this exciting Grade 1 race.&nbsp;</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Two Horses Stand Out in Breeders' Futurity Stakes</h2>



<p>There are currently 11 horses with odds to win this race, and the odds do tend to fall off in a big way at a certain point. Ferocious is easily the betting favorite to win this race as that horse currently has EVEN odds this weekend.&nbsp;</p>



<p>This is a horse that appears to be taking the next step, and it will be a major horse to watch in the future as well. Even though the odds for Ferocious clearly make it the betting favorite, you should be looking at some other odds as well.&nbsp;</p>



<p>East Avenue is the other horse that is expected to contend for the title this weekend at Keeneland. The odds for East Avenue are sitting at +450, and there is clearly some more betting value in betting on that horse than betting on Ferocious.&nbsp;</p>



<p>It appears that this will be a two-horse race to the finish line, but there have been a ton of surprises already this year.&nbsp;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Other Horses to Watch</h2>



<p>As mentioned above, the betting odds fall off in a big way for this race, and some of these horses shouldn’t even be considered at all. Tenacious Leader is the next horse that you should consider, but the odds for that horse are sitting at +1200.&nbsp;</p>



<p>There is a reason to consider Tenacious Leader at +1200 as it’s a horse that has had some big runs up to this point in its career. Dapper Moon is another horse that has a chance to contend this weekend, even though the betting odds are sitting at +1500.</p>



<p>Handsome Pants has odds set at +2000 to win the Breeders’ Futurity Stakes, and that is really the last horse that you should consider. Some of the horses with even worse odds might end up dropping out of the race before it begins.&nbsp;</p>

For the second time this year, TCU scored 55+ points, while they covered a +5 spread with ease. The Horned Frogs totaled 668 yards opposite Oklahoma’s 355 and had seven first downs more than the Sooners (29-22).&nbsp;</p>



<p>Max Duggan completed 23 of 33 passes for 302 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. He added 116 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just five carries. Kendre Miller led all the runners with 136 yards and a couple of scores on 13 attempts, while Taye Barber led all the receivers with 107 yards and a touchdown on three receptions. Dee Winters had two sacks, while Johnny Hodges recorded ten total tackles as he led his defense in this win.&nbsp;</p>



<p>WR Quincy Brown is bothered by an unknown injury, and it has yet to be determined how long he will be out. QB Chandler Morris has missed the last three games with a left knee injury, and it is uncertain if it will keep him out of the lineup versus Kansas on Saturday.</p>



<h2 id="h-jayhawks-edged-the-cyclones-at-home">Jayhawks edged the Cyclones at home</h2>



<p>The Kansas Jayhawks (5-0, 5-0 ATS) continued with excellent displays and recorded another victory. This time around, the Jayhawks beat the Iowa State Cyclones 14-11 at home and covered a +3.5 spread along the way. Kansas scored all of its 14 points in the space of six minutes in the second quarter. The visitors were better in total yards (313-213), first downs (20-10) and possession (35:02-24:51), but the hosts wanted this win more and got it.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Jalon Daniels completed 7 of 14 passes for 93 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions. The pass offense didn’t work here, but run offense was solid as the Jayhawks collected 112 yards and two touchdowns on 31 carries. Devin Neal led all the runners with 75 yards on 12 attempts, while Luke Grimm caught four passes for 46 yards. Defensively, Kansas had five sacks opposite Iowa State’s one.&nbsp; Ra'Mello Dotson and Rich Miller led the team with seven tackles apiece.&nbsp;</p>

It’s going to be a tight encounter that could go either way, but given the spread, I am going with the Jayhawks, like I did last week against the Cyclones. TCU has the 4<sup>th</sup> best offense in the country that averages 48.5 ppg, but I think the Jayhawks, who allow 16.0 ppg on average at home, will contain the visitors. One team will remain undefeated following this game, and I am not saying it’s going to be Kansas, but I believe they can cover.</p>

<h2 id="h-the-total">The Total</h2>



<p>TCU and Kansas are combining for almost 89 points per game and around 500 passing yards per game, which means we could have a classic shootout and a high-scoring affair. I am pretty sure they will combine for around 60 points here, but I am going with Kansas’ defense to slow down TCU’s high-flying offense. That’s why I am not brave enough to bet on Over 67.5 points. Only one of the last ten H2H duels produced more than 67.5 points. Under is 5-2 in the Jayhawks’ last seven home games, while Under is 5-1 in Kansas’ previous six vs. a team with a winning record.<strong>Pick: </strong>Go Under 67.5 points (-110)</p>

<p>The only unbeaten team in the NFL, Philadelphia, is looking to maintain the perfect record when they host Pittsburgh at Lincoln Financial Field. The Eagles are firm -10.5 favorites on <a href="https://www.bangthebook.com/sportsbooks/mybookie/">MyBookie Sportsbook</a>, while the total is set at 43 points. These inter-conference rivals haven’t met since 2020.</p>



<p><strong>Steelers blew up a chance to beat the Dolphins</strong></p>



<p>The Pittsburgh Steelers (2-5-0, 3-3-1 ATS) snapped their four-game losing skid with a surprising win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but they returned to losing ways with a defeat to the Miami Dolphins. The Steelers actually had a decent chance to beat the Dolphins in Miami after the teams produced all points in the first half and none in the second, but rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett threw interceptions in crucial moments, so the Dolphins got a 16-10 victory.</p>



<p>Kenny Pickett completed 32 of 44 passes for 257 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions. George Pickens was on the receiving end of that lone TD pass, while Pat Freiermuth led the team with 75 receiving yards on eight catches. Najee Harris collected 65 yards on the ground on 17 carries. Defensively, Myles Jack was a standout with ten total tackles.</p>



<p>DT Larry Ogunjobi (knee) and CB Levi Wallace (shoulder) are unavailable to play on Sunday against Philadelphia. LB T.J. Watt (pectoral) and K Chris Boswell (groin) are questionable.</p>



<p><strong>Eagles are still unbeaten</strong></p>



<p>The Philadelphia Eagles (6-0-0, 4-2-0 ATS) recorded their sixth win of the season before they hit a bye week and are strong favorites to continue winning when they meet the Steelers on Sunday. Philadelphia defeated their divisional foes Dallas Cowboys 26-17 at home and didn’t really give a chance to the visitors. The Eagles had a 20-0 lead late in the second quarter, and although the Cowboys cut the deficit to just three points, the hosts scored one more touchdown in the fourth quarter to seal a victory.</p>



<p>Jalen Hurts completed 15 of 25 passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns. A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith combined for 111 receiving yards and a pair of TD on ten receptions (13 targets). Miles Sanders was his usual self with team-high 71 rushing yards and a score on 18 carries. On defense, T.J. Edwards was excellent with a game-high 14 tackles.</p>

The Eagles have a favorable schedule in the next month or so, so they could easily go unbeaten for quite some time. Philly has the fourth-best offense that averages 26.8 points per game, while the Eagles also have a top 5 defense that allows 17.5 ppg. Pittsburgh, on the other side, has the second-worst offense that is scoring just 15.3 ppg, and I don’t think they have a chance against Philadelphia here. Jalen Hurts is one of the best quarterbacks this year, while Kenny Pickett is still inexperienced and that was evident in a recent loss to Miami. He is still not capable of leading the Steelers to wins over stronger rivals, despite that W over the Bucs.</p>



<p><strong>Pick:</strong> Take the Eagles at -9.5 (-133)</p>



<p><strong>The Total</strong></p>



<p>Pittsburgh scored more than 20 points just once this season, and I don’t think they will score 20+ on Sunday against one of the best defenses in the NFL. On the other hand, I am backing the Eagles to score 25+ here, but don’t expect an offensive eruption from the hosts, who scored more than 30 points only once this season. Under is 4-1 in the last five H2H meetings; Under is 5-2 in the Steelers’ previous seven games overall, while Under is 16-7 in the Eagles’ last 23 games following a bye week.</p>
