<p>An interleague battle continues Saturday night when the Pittsburgh Pirates (21-18, 11-9 away) visit the Baltimore Orioles (25-13, 12-5 home). The Pirates have struggled in May winning just one game and losing all three series on the way. This weekend’s series with the Orioles was a familiar feeling for the Pirates as they were beaten 6-3.</p>



<p>Roansy Contreras is set to make his eighth start of the season and he will need to improve on his 4.74 ERA and 1.55 WHIP in 38.0 innings pitched.</p>



<p>Bryan Reynolds has signed a big contract extension and is off to a nice start this year as he leads the Pirates with a .296 batting average and 23 RBIs. Andrew McCutchen has hit a team leading seven home runs.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-baltimore-orioles-are-good">The Baltimore Orioles Are Good</h2>



<p>Baltimore started this week doing something not many teams have done this year – beating the Tampa Bay Rays in a series. The Orioles took two of three from the division leading Rays and started this series with a solid win Friday night.</p>



<p>Tyler Wells is taking the ball for the eighth time this season, seventh start, and he’s off to a nice start this season with a 3.15 ERA and 0.78 WHIP in 40.0 innings pitched. The Orioles have been balanced, and good, at this dish with Austin Hays hitting a team high .303, Ryan Mountcastle mashing eight home runs, and Cedric Mullins knocking in 31 runs.</p>
