<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Denis Shapovalov (+113) vs. Ben Shelton (-139)</h3>



<p>Denis Shapovalov and Ben Shelton will meet in a rematch of the third round at this past Wimbledon, when Shelton won in a competitive five-set match. Shelton, the world No. 14, is 11-7 on hard courts this year whereas Shapovalov is just 6-6 on the surface. Shapovalov has battled injuries and inconsistent play in the last few years, while Shelton is a fast-rising player who is likely to break into the top-10 in the near future. He's a good <a href="https://www.bangthebook.com/s/mybookie/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">bet</a> to win and improve to 2-0 against the Canadian.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Sebastian Korda (-195) vs. Jordan Thompson (+165)</h3>



<p>This is the first meeting between Sebastian Korda and Jordan Thompson and, because of that, I like the underdog Thompson to prevail. The Aussie has consecutive straight set victories, beating Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard 7-5, 6-4 and Reilly Opelka 6-4, 6-3. Korda needed three sets to beat Aussie Thanasi Kokkinakis in the third round and previously beat Cristian Garin in two sets. Thompson is 8-2 in his last 10 matches and ranked No. 33 in the world, one spot below his career-best ranking.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Andrey Rublev (-185) vs. Frances Tiafoe (+150)</h3>



<p>Expect another upset here with Frances Tiafoe becoming the third American into the semi-finals. Rublev had lost five of his last seven matches coming into the tournament and is 1-2 in his career against Tiafoe. The American typically performs well in the US as well - Tiafoe's best results this year were a finals appearance in Houston, semi-final in Delray Beach, and quarter-final in Dallas and Atlanta.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Finals Prediction</h2>



<p>Tiafoe is a player who is due for success this season. The four-time ATP Tour winner doesn't have a title this season, but has come close in US-based tournaments. If he can upset Rublev, he would play the <a href="https://www.bangthebook.com/s/mybookie/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">winner</a> of Korda and Thompson and both of those are favorable matches. He's the most experienced player in the draw and that should serve him well, potentially in an all-American final against Shelton.</p>

<p>Two Ford teams have drivers who've either previously won this race or should challenge for the win at Daytona.</p>



<p>RFK Racing's Brad Keselowski (+1000) won at Daytona in 2016, won stage one, and led the most laps before finishing 22nd at the NASCAR season-opening race in Daytona. Keselowski has nine top-ten finishes this season and could challenge for his first win in 2023.</p>



<p>Keselowski's RFK teammate Chris Buescher (+1600) finished fourth at the Spring Daytona race and has two race wins and three top-five finishes in the past four races, including back-to-back wins. Buescher should be at the front and in the mix to win on Saturday night.</p>



<p>Team Penske's Ryan Blaney (+1200) and reigning Champion Joey Logano (+1200) finished ninth and tenth at Watkins Glen, with Blaney winning the Summer Daytona race in 2021.</p>



<p>Logano finished second, while Blaney finished eighth in the season-opening race. In his last seven races at Daytona, Blaney has three top-five and five top-ten finishes, while Logano only has one top-ten finish and an average finishing position of 17.6.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-team-hendrick-motorsports-three-headed-hydra">Team Hendrick Motorsports' Three-Headed Hydra</h2>



<p>Herickick Motorsports' three-headed NASCAR hydra - Chase Elliott (+1200), Kyle Larson (+2000), and William Byron (+2200) - are always among the betting favorites and in contention to win any race, with Byron having won at Daytona in 2020.</p>



<p>Daytona is Elliott's last chance to win his way into the playoffs, and he will have to do it at Daytona, where he has two top-five and four top-ten finishes, with an average finishing position of 15.1 since February 2022.</p>



<p>However, the Hendrick Motorsports' hydra may struggle at Daytona, with Larson posting the best finish of the three in the season-opening race. Often overlooked fourth-man Alex Bowman (+2500) finished fifth and was Hendrick's best finisher in the season opener.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-will-a-toyota-break-through">Will a Toyota Break Through?</h2>



<p>A Toyota has not won the Summer Daytona race since Erik Jones' (+2500) win in 2018. After all, it's Joe Gibbs Racing's tremendous trio occupying three of the top-four positions in the Drivers' Championship.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-joe-gibbs-racing">Joe Gibbs Racing</h3>



<p>Martin Truex Jr. (+2600) is looking to capture the Regular Season championship and will have to do it at a track he's lacked success, finishing outside the top-ten to start the season, having two top-ten finishes in the last seven races at Daytona.</p>



<p>Christopher Bell (+2500) finished third in the season opener - his only top-ten finish in the last seven races at Daytona - and is coming off his sixth top-five finish of the season.</p>



<p>However, the oddsmakers' favorite to win is Denny Hamlin (+1000), who captured pole position and finished second at Watkins Glen and has one race win and three top-five finishes in the last seven races at Daytona.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-23xi-racing">23XI Racing</h3>



<p>Neither 23XI Racing Driver had a great season-opening race, with Tyler Reddick (+2200) finishing 39th and Bubba Wallace (+1800) finishing 20th. With Daytona being a weak track for Toyota in general and 23XI more specifically, we're not favoring either 23XI driver to end Toyota's winning drought at Daytona.</p>

It's been five years since the Illinois Fighting Illini have made it to a bowl game. So it is understandable that even with a 6-6 record (8-4 ATS), this is a year of progress. So Lovie Smith will take his Big Ten team into the Redbox Bowl on Monday December 30 against the Pac-12's California Golden Bears, slated to begin at 4 PM ET at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, CA, which is home of the San Francisco 49ers.

After a four-game losing streak, they rebounded with a win over Washington State, were routed by USC, but beat Stanford and UCLA to qualify.

Illinois isn't considered to be consistent offensively, but they have scored 30 points or more six times. Cal has held eight of its foes to 21 points or less.

Illinois' stop unit has playmakers, but was not necessarily airtight (ranked 78th overall). What they did was generate turnovers - 29 of them, in fact, which was the third highest total in the nation.

Cal QB Chase Garbers (1500 yards, ten TD's) suffered through a broken collarbone and a concussion this season,. but here he is, and he gives the Bears the best chance to win. He just doesn't have a lot around him, as this offense is 117th in the nation.

Illinois is actually two spots below that, and Michigan transfer Brandon Peters (only 54.6%, 1611 yards, 76th in efficiency) may not be able to make the start after sitting out the Northwestern game with a concussion. They are staying relatively silent on his status. Backup Matt Robinson (34 of 60) led a nice comeback against Michigan before fumbling twice. He's got a small frame for the position (6-0, 190) and may not be able to execute too many designed runs in Rod Smith's spread option-type scheme.

That's a variable. Cal doesn't give the ball up much (just 13 TO's), and they absolutely don't hurt themselves a lot with penalties. There are quite a few Illini on the injury report, so there's some uncertainty. Cal feels a need to redeem itself for last year's 10-7 OT loss to TCU in the Cheez-It Bowl. They rate the edge on this field. And I would not be shocked if this went "over," considered that the respective defenses may not be as good as the impression most in the public have of them.
