<p>Logan Gilbert is set to make his ninth start of the season and he will look to build on his 3.91 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in 46.0 innings pitched.</p>



<p>Teoscar Hernandez has been leading the way at the dish as he leads the Mariners with eight home runs and 23 RBIs. Jarred Kelenic is batting a team high .283.</p>

<p>Atlanta was in the middle of their worst stretch of the season, but things seem to be turning back around. The Braves went to Texas and took two of three from the Rangers and started this series with an impressive 6-2 victory. Having won three of their last four, the Braves now lead the National League East by 5.5 games.</p>



<p>Jesse Chavez will be pitching for the 22<sup>nd</sup> time this season, as the Braves head into a bullpen game, and he has pitched to a 2.50 ERA and 1.17 WHIP in 18.0 innings pitched. Atlanta has been balanced at the plate as Matt Olson has mashed a team high 12 home runs, Sean Murphy has knocked in 34 RBIs, and Ronald Acuna Jr. is batting .343.</p>

Philadelphia finished the regular season with a 95-67 record, including a 54-27 mark at home and 41-40 on the road. As favorites, they went 83-51, while posting a 13-18 record as underdogs.</p>

The over has hit in their last eight games.</p><p>Ranger Suárez gets the start for the Phillies today as he faces the Mets on the road. In his 27 appearances, he has turned in 11 quality starts, one shutout, and one complete game. Looking back at his last outing, Suárez took the loss after giving up six earned runs in just two innings of work. Before that, he had given up three earned runs in three straight starts.</p>
<p>Philadelphia comes into today's game as one of the league's top offenses, averaging 4.8 runs per game (5th) and batting a collective .257 (4th). They have been even better at home, averaging 5 runs per game and have the 2nd best home batting average in the league. The Phillies have been hitting a lot of home runs this season, as they are 7th in the league in homers and have the 5th best slugging percentage in the league.</p>

<p>Over his last seven games, Nick Castellanos has gone 10/23 with two homers and four RBIs. This has pushed his season average to .285. Kyle Schwarber has also been swinging the bat well for the Phillies, as he is 6th in the league with 38 homers and is 8th in the league with 104 RBIs. Bryce Harper is also having a strong season, as he is batting .285 with 30 homers and 87 RBIs.</p><h3>Mets Records & Stats</h3><p>Leading 2-1 in their series against Philadelphia, the Mets are at home for game four, looking to secure the series win. New York posted a 46-35 home record during the regular season, compared to 43-38 on the road. As favorites, they went 59-39, while finishing 34-36 as underdogs.</p> <p>New York’s run line record for the season is 87-81, with a 39-43 mark at home. They’ve covered the run line in three straight home games. The Mets’ games have averaged 9.1 runs this year, and their over/under record is 86-77. The over has hit in their last three games.</p><p>Jose Quintana gets the start for the Mets today and comes into the game with a record of 10-10 and an ERA of 3.75. He has made 31 starts this season and has pitched well at home, coming in with a record of 5-5 and an ERA of 4.15. Quintana's ERA on the road is 4.58, and he has a record of 5-5 away from home. The left-hander most recently faced the Brewers, where he finished with a no-decision, going six innings and not giving up a run. Before that, he had given up two earned runs in back-to-back starts. Quintana has won two straight starts.</p><p>Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso have been the Mets' top power threats this season, as Alonso's 34 homers are 10th in the league and Lindor is just behind him with 33. Lindor comes into the game batting .273 and is the team's leader in RBIs, while Alonso has driven in 88 runs but is batting just .240 for the season. Over his last six games, Alonso has gone deep three times, but he is just 4/19 in that stretch.</p>

<p>As a team, the Mets are 7th in the league in scoring at 4.7 runs per game and are also 6th in home runs. Overall, they are batting .246, which is 8th in the league. They have three players who come into the game on three-game hitting streaks.</p>

Philadelphia Phillies vs New York Mets Betting Pick & Prediction 10/9/24

<p>The penultimate game of the Week 2 of the NFL preseason will take place on Sunday, August 21, so you must not miss the best Ravens vs. Cardinals betting pick and odds as all eyes will be on this clash.</p>



<p>Both Baltimore and Arizona are looking to record their respective second wins of the preseason when they meet at State Farm Stadium, and the Ravens are -5.5 favorites on <a href="https://www.bangthebook.com/sportsbooks/bovada/">Bovada Sportsbook</a>, while the total is set at 38.5 points. These inter-conference rivals haven’t met since 2019, and on average, they face each other every four or five years, including the preseason.</p>



<p><strong>Lamar Jackson needs more receiving options</strong></p>



<p>The Baltimore Ravens didn’t have trouble beating the Tennessee Titans 23-10 in the opening game of the preseason. Their defense kept the Titans to under 300 total yards and forced three turnovers, while both passing and running offense worked well.</p>



<p>Still, star quarterback Lamar Jackson will need more receiving options besides Mark Andrews when the regular season starts, and this is a chance for the likes of Rashod Bateman, James Proche II, and Devin Duvernay to show their worth. They didn’t feature last week but could get playing time against Arizona on Sunday.</p>



<p>Backup quarterback Tyler Huntley completed 16 of 18 passes for 109 yards and a touchdown against the Titans and will probably split time with Anthony Brown (10/15 for 117 yds) under the center.</p>



<p><strong>Trace McSorley to meet his former team</strong></p>



<p>The Arizona Cardinals didn’t have a tough job in a 36-23 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals on the road. They even had a 36-9 lead at one moment, but relaxed a bit in the final 15 minutes and allowed 14 points.</p>



<p>Former Baltimore Ravens quarterback Trace McSorley was impressive for the Cards as he completed 13 of 22 passes for 163 yards and a touchdown. He also added a team-high 32 rushing yards on four carries. Starter Kyler Murray is not expected to take more than a few snaps if any, so McSorley will have more time to connect with receivers, especially Andy Isabella. The two already displayed solid chemistry; Isabella caught four passes on seven targets for 57 yards. He and Greg Dortch (eight targets for 53 yards) will continue to be McSorley’s top options through the air.</p>

<p>Arizona scored five touchdowns against the Bengals, and although that won’t be easy against the Ravens, I am backing the hosts to outscore Baltimore. It will be hard for the Ravens to contain the cardinals to below 300 total yards and considering that Arizona didn’t turn the ball over once against Cincy, my pick is the home side to cover. Trace McSorley will be motivated to impress as he faces his old team, and I expect him to be dangerous on both the ground and in the air.</p>



<p><strong>Pick:</strong> Take the Cardinals at +5.5 (-110)</p>



<p><strong>The Total</strong></p>



<p>Arizona’s defense played very well through the first three quarters of the win over Cincinnati and then relaxed in the fourth. I don’t think the Cardinals will have such a big lead to afford to relax late in the game. That said, I expect to see a tight encounter with not plenty of points. Don’t be surprised if both teams end the game below 20 points. Under is 11-4 in the Ravens’ last 15 road games, while Under is 4-1 in Baltimore’s previous five games on grass.</p>

<p>Little Rock’s season opener didn’t go as planned, as they fell 82-67 to Winthrop on Saturday. The Trojans were +11 underdogs going into the game and didn’t cover the spread. The total points for the game were 149, falling short of the 158 O/U line.</p> 

<p>After trailing 32-28 at halftime, Little Rock allowed 50 points in the 2nd half while scoring 39 of their own. They’ll need to tighten up defensively moving forward.</p><p>Little Rock struggled offensively in their last game, shooting just 34.4% from the field and 32% from beyond the arc. Their effective field goal percentage was 40.6%, and they managed 10 assists as a team.</p> <p>Johnathan Lawson led the way with 27 points, hitting 5 of 10 threes, while K.J. Doucet added 17 points, shooting 60% from deep. Tommy Kamarad was 3 for 4 from three, finishing with 13 points in 13 minutes.</p><p>Despite Little Rock's defensive efforts, they allowed 82 points in their previous game. The Trojans gave up 23 field goals on 41% shooting, including 14 two-pointers at a 50% clip.</p> <p>From beyond the arc, Little Rock's defense saw their opponent hit 9 threes on 27 attempts, good for 33%. They also sent them to the line 42 times, where they made 27 free throws (64%). Little Rock allowed 21 offensive rebounds.</p><h3>Can the Red Wolves Pull Out the Win as Home Favorites?</h3><h3>Arkansas State Red Wolves Recent Game/Games</h3> 

<p>In their season opener, the Red Wolves fell 88-79 to Alabama on Friday. Despite being +25 point underdogs, Arkansas State kept the game closer than expected. The total points for the game reached 167, just under the O/U line of 171.5.</p> 

<p>Arkansas State trailed 43-40 at halftime and were outscored 45-39 in the 2nd half.
