<p> The Devils may have dropped the first two games of this series at home, but they got themselves back into it with a 2-1 overtime win in game three. It was a tense game all night, but the young Devils were able to keep their cool and avoid going down 3-0. There was no scoring in the first period, but the Rangers got on the board first just 3:39 into the second period. New Jersey tied the game up 10 minutes into the second period and the score remained tied at one until overtime.</p>



<p>It was a tense first 10 minutes of the overtime period, but Dougie Hamilton scored 11:36 into overtime to give the Devils a 2-1 win and life in this series.</p>



<p>Jack Hughes scored a power play goal to join Hamilton on the scoresheet. Hamilton, Jesper Bratt, and Nico Hischier all assisted on the New Jerse goals. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-new-york-rangers-hope-to-take-control">The New York Rangers Hope to Take Control</h2>



<p>New York may have lost game three, but they are still in control of this series, and they will have one foot in the second round with a win in game four. All Chris Kreider does is score playoff goals and he extended his franchise record with a goal in the second period of game three. The Rangers could not muster up any more offense and continued the trend of this series with no home teams winning.</p>



<p>Igor Shesterkin stopped 26 of the 28 shots on his goal in the loss. </p>
