The 2021-22 NHL season continues with six games on Tuesday night’s card, so we’re breaking down this interconference showdown from the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida to get you the best Predators vs. Panthers betting pick and odds.

Nashville meets Florida for the first time since April 27, 2021 when the Panthers were victorious, 7-4. The Panthers are 7-2-1 in the last 10 meetings between these teams. The Panthers opened as -200 favorites at home on BetAnySports, while the Predators are +170 underdogs with a total of 6.5 goals.

Predators Look to End Skid

The Nashville Predators (28-18-4; 29-21 ATS) are looking to snap a four-game losing streak after falling to Carolina last Friday, 5-3. The Predators are 4-5-1 in their last 10 and 14-9-4 on the road this season. The Predators are 0-2-1 in their last three games on the road, outscored 12-8.

Nashville found themselves trailing 4-1, but were able to battle back behind goals by Filip Forsberg and Tanner Jeannot to pull within a goal. However, they could not find the equalizer. Roman Josi had three assists in this game and now has eight assists over his last five games. The defenseman now leads the team with 38 assists and 51 total points.

The Predators are proving to be an average team, 14th in goals scored per game (3.0) and 13th in goals allowed per contest (2.8). The same has been true for the special teams as they are 15th in penalty killing (79.9%) and ninth on the power-play (23.8%). The challenge will be to get Juuse Saros back on track (24-15-3, 2.49 GAA, .923 save percentage) who has outstanding numbers, but has given up 15 total goals over his last four games, including giving up four in three of those contests.

Panthers Rolling

The Florida Panthers (35-10-5; 29-21 ATS) earned a 5-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday. That gives Florida a five-point lead in the Atlantic Division standings, and they are second in the NHL in total points (75). The Panthers are on a roll, going 8-2-0 over their last 10 and they are an impressive 23-3-0 at home.

Alexander Barkov led Florida, scoring a goal and adding two assists. Mason Marchment had an assist in the contest and now has 10 points over his last five games. Marchment has been a scoring machine since returning to the team, recording 27 points and 25 games.

Florida is having a lot of success offensively, first in the NHL in goals per game (4.1). The Panthers have scored 14 goals during their three-game winning streak, and have tallied 54 goals in their last nine games at home.

Trends:

Nashville:

  • 0-4 in their last four games.
  • 1-5 in their last six games.

Florida:

  • 41-11 in their last 52 games at home.
  • 5-0 in their last five home games following a road trip of seven days or more.

Nashville Predators vs. Florida Panthers Pick

This is a battle of the red-hot Florida team taking on a slumping Nashville squad. The Panthers have been unreal at home, winning nine straight games at home and are 23-3-0 in their own building. That is ridiculous.

Nashville has to have concerns about Saros, especially against the number one offense in the NHL. While the Predators have a solid team, they simply cannot match up against this Florida squad that is dominating opponents of late. In addition, the Panthers have dominated the Predators in the last 10 games.

Pick: Take Florida Panthers at -200

The Total:

These are two of the better offensive teams in the NHL, especially Florida. These two teams will also give up goals. Nashville has seen seven or more goals scored in three of their last four games while Florida has seen seven or more in five of their last six contests. With Saros struggling and Florida knowing they can outscore opponents, the over looks like the smart pick here.

In addition, the trends are clearly leaning toward the over. Nashville has gone over in seven of their last eight games on the road and four their last five overall, while Florida has gone over in 18 of their last 26 at home and 21 of their last 29 overall.

Pick: Go over 6.5 at -110
