<p>Miami has been the story of the NBA playoffs, but they were in a tough spot Thursday night after playing seven games in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Heat had to travel from Boston to Denver on Tuesday and they looked tired in the NBA Finals opener.</p>



<p>Game one was all about the Denver Nuggets as they jumped to an early first quarter lead and never looked back. Denver won the first quarter by nine points and extended that lead to 17 points at halftime. Miami was much better in the second half, but it was far too little too late. The Nuggets extended their lead to 21 heading into the final quarter, when Miami started played better and won their only quarter of the game. Denver grabbed a 1-0 series lead with a 104-93 win Thursday night.</p>



<p>Bam Adebayo went off with 26 points, 13 rebounds, and five assists in the game one defeat. Haywood Highsmith came off the bench and added 18 points on the night.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-denver-nuggets-continued-their-dominance">The Denver Nuggets Continued Their Dominance</h2>



<p>Denver had plenty of rest heading into game one and it showed as they came out on fire and jumped all over the Heat. The Nuggets are reasonable favorites to win their first NBA Championship, and they are now just three wins away.</p>



<p>Nikola Jokic did Jokic things in game one as he had 27 points, 10 rebounds, and 14 assists on the night. Jamal Murray added 26 points, 10 assists, and six rebounds in the game one win.</p>
