An American League battle continues Saturday afternoon when the Los Angeles Angels (7-6, 4-3 away) visit the Boston Red Sox (6-8, 3-4 home) for game two of their four game series. Neither team should be content with their starts, but both teams are in fine shape and aren’t costing themselves anything early in the year. Below is my MLB pick for the Angels vs Red Sox.

Los Angeles Angels vs Boston Red Sox Betting Pick

The Pick: Boston Red Sox +100 at Bookmaker.eu

This game will be played at Fenway Park at 4:10 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023.

Why Bet the Boston Red Sox:

✅ Boston has been good at home, winning nine of their last 13 games at Fenway.

✅ The Red Sox have played surprisingly well against the AL West, winning their last five meetings with one of the better divisions in baseball.

✅ Los Angeles has struggled with Boston of late, losing four of their last five against the Sox.

Los Angeles Angles Looking to Even the Series Up

The Los Angeles Angles have struggled over the past week as they have lost three of their last five games against various East Division teams. The Angels started the week with a 12-inning loss to the Blue Jays and it has been bookended with a 5-3 road loss in the series opener against the Red Sox. Two wins, and one loss, against the Nationals happened in between, but the Nats are going to be a bottom two of three team in baseball this season.

Tyler Anderson is going to take the mound for the third time this season and he will look to improve on his 4.22 ERA. Logan O’Hoppe is having a great start to the season as he leads the Angels with four home runs and 11 RBIs. Gio Urshela is batting a team high .341 early in the year.

The Boston Red Sox are Going to be a Tough Watch

Boston had to have been happy leaving Tampa as they swept in a four-game series and were not very competitive in most of the games. However, some home cooking did the Sox well as they got back to their winning ways and will look to climb closer to .500 with a win Saturday afternoon.

Nick Pivetta will grab the ball for the third time this year and he will look to continue his strong start to the season as the veteran righty has given up just one earned run in 10.0 innings pitched. The Sox have been balanced at the dish as Alex Verdugo has a team high .309 batting average, Rafael Devers has mashed six home runs, and Adam Duvall has knocking in a team leading 14 RBIs.
