The Milwaukee Bucks have just suffered their first consecutive loss of the season, and things are not getting easier as they play back-to-back at Pepsi Center in Denver on Monday night. Back in January, the Nuggets beat the Bucks 127-115 as massive 13-point road underdogs, and they will try their best to thrash off the best team in the league once more. However, the Nuggets are not playing in a good form at the moment, so we expect to see an exciting clash in Denver on Monday.

<strong>Injuries/Suspensions</strong>

The Bucks are missing Giannis Antetokounmpo for the second straight game, as the reigning MVP is dealing with a joint capsule sprain in his left knee. Kyle Korver (back) is also out. On the other side, the Nuggets are coming in full strength.

<strong>The Line</strong>

The Nuggets opened as 4.5-point favorites with a total of 220.0 points at <a href="http://bangthebook.com/sportsbooks/betonline/">Betonline</a> and <a href="http://bangthebook.com/sportsbooks/betdsi/">BetDSI</a>. The Nuggets are No. 3 seed in the West, a game behind the LA Clippers and a game ahead of the fourth-seeded Utah Jazz.

<strong>The Spot</strong>

Milwaukee has dropped two straight games for the first time this season. After a 113-103 defeat at the LA Lakers as 1.5-point road dogs this past Friday, the Bucks lost at the Phoenix Suns 140-131 as 6.5-point road favorites last night. The Nuggets, on the other side, are coming off a disappointing 104-102 defeat at the Cleveland Cavaliers as 9-point favorites this past Saturday. Denver has dropped three of its previous five games overall.

<strong>The Matchup</strong>

The Bucks surrendered 140 points in Phoenix last night which tells you a lot how much they missed Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Greek Freak is averaging 29.6 points, 13.7 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game, but he’s also a vital part of the Bucks’ defense that is the best in the league. Milwaukee allows only 101.3 points per 100 possessions (1<sup>st</sup> in the league) on 41.1% shooting from the field (also 1<sup>st</sup>).

In that surprising road victory over the Bucks in January, the Nuggets shot 48.0% from the field while making 22 triples out of 46 attempts (47.8%). They will need another hot-shooting night to beat the Bucks, and the Nuggets also have to control the glass. The Nuggets are 19<sup>th</sup> in the league in total rebounds per game (44.3), while the Bucks lead the league with 52.0 total rebounds per contest.

On the other side of the ball, the Nuggets will have to defend the 3-point line well. Without Antetokounmpo, the Bucks will have to lean more on their shooting from deep instead of taking the ball into the paint. Still, the Bucks are fifth in the league in 3-points attempts per 100 possessions (36.5), while the Nuggets are 25<sup>th</sup> (30.7), but Denver plays at a much slower pace than the Bucks.

Milwaukee records 105.1 possessions per 48 minutes which are the most in the NBA. On the other side, the Nuggets average only 97.1 possessions per 48 minutes which are the second-fewest in the league. Denver scores 112.8 points per 100 possessions (8<sup>th</sup> in the league), while the Bucks are right behind with 112.7 points per 100 possessions.

<strong>The Bets</strong>

The Bucks could struggle with fatigue, playing their third road game in just four days. Also, they are without Giannis Antetokounmpo, so I think this is a great opportunity for the Nuggets who love to play against tough teams. Therefore, I’m backing the hosts to win and cover, and I would stick with the side bet. Denver is 15-4 SU and 12-7 ATS in its last 19 meetings with Milwaukee

Betting on the totals seems like a tricky job in this one. Unlike the Bucks, the Nuggets love to play at a slow pace and will try their best to slow down the tempo. The Bucks will miss Giannis on both sides of the ball, but they are still capable of playing good defense. Also, they should be fired up to prove it after allowing 140 points last time out. This clash could easily go either way, so I would stay away from the totals. One of them involves the second overall draft. Now, we admit that it is more or less a fait accompli, something that is reflected in the odds, but it gives us a chance to talk a little about the New York Jets, who own that pick and are priced at +1400 to win the AFC East in 2021.

Last season was an unmitigated disaster for the Jets, although some of Adam Gase's harsher critics could swear they saw all of it coming. The team has had so little to offer in the way of firepower that you can almost make the case that it's difficult to gauge the progress of Sam Darnold.

But Joe Douglas and new head coach Robert Saleh apparently figured that it was time for a change. Maybe they thought this was about as far as they could go with him. So dealing him away to the Carolina Panthers is a sure sign that they take a quarterback when they pick second. So you can forget about Penei Sewell (+3300), as good a player as he is. And the Jets were happy with tackle Mekhi Becton, last year's #1 pick, who had some dominant moments when he was healthy.

Wilson is rightfully the huge favorite at BetOnline, but he could be facing some of the same fundamental problems as Darnold did. This team needs more pop in its offense. They have taken a few steps. Le'Veon Bell was simply not used right by Gase, and he forced them to let him go. Tevin Coleman was with Saleh and offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur in San Francisco, but it is doubtful he can be the lead back. Keep in mind, however, that the Jets also have the 23rd, 34th and 66th overall picks, so they can snag a useful running back in the draft.

Wide receiver Keelan Cole had 642 yards with Jacksonville last season, but the big acquisition among the skill guys is Corey Davis, who was just below the 1000-yard mark in Tennessee last year. As it stands right now, he would be the #1 threat Wilson would be targeting against opposing secondaries.

The Jets actually need TWO quarterbacks, because invariably you want that veteran on hand to steady the big-ticket rookie, and maybe even keep the seat warm until the kid's ready. Joe Flacco was last year's backup, and he was pressed into action when Darnold was hurt. But he has departed. Reportedly the Jets were talking with Brian Hoyer, but there are other possibilities, and that may include a return for Teddy Bridgewater, depending on what the Panthers ultimately do with him after picking up Darnold, although we don't think he'd fit under the salary cap.

Wilson was a highly-touted prospect for BYU coming out of high school, but was considered an underachiever by some after his first two seasons. As a junior, however, he sprouted. Wilson had 33 touchdown passes with only three interceptions, averaging eleven yards an attempt. And although the Cougars were not able to play the most robust schedule, he did burn Houston for 400 yards, Boise State for 360 and UCF for 425.

Wilson is praised for "athletic ability," which generally means he can pull the ball down and run with it. But he also is able to improvise well, and has a quick release, with the ability to throw it on the run. Whether he can contribute more than Darnold did is anybody's guess.

Or maybe it isn't. Gil Brandt, the Hall of Fame personnel man who helped create years of greatness with the Dallas Cowboys of the 60s, 70s and 80s, said that given a choice between Wilson and Trevor Lawrence (the likely #1 pick), he'd take Wilson. And, "Honestly, I'm surprised the Jaguars' new head coach didn't show up at BYU's pro day."

But Rivers has settled down, and the Colts are doing what Frank Reich envisioned they could do at the outset of the season, which is to bring some genuine balance with the ground game. Jonathan Taylor is proving to be a worthwhile investment as a second round draft pick out of Wisconsin; he's not necessarily spectacular but helps them move the chains. He had 74 yards on 18 attempts last week in Pittsburgh and has 916 going into the final game of his rookie season.

On the other side, the drama that has been going on with former starting quarterback Gardner Minshew is coming to an end with the Jaguars. Minshew had gotten hurt and was replaced by a rookie Jake Luton, who wasn't prepared for the gig, as it turned out. And then when Minshew was ready to play again, he begged - at least according to his own words – head coach Doug Marrone for the opportunity to play, but was denied. Veteran retread Mike Glennon got the call and has continued to get the call, despite being error-prone. He was intercepted twice last week in a 41 - 17 loss to the Chicago Bears. Truth be told, putting him in the lineup was probably a white flag. And we are certain that Jaguars ownership, which already fired general manager Dave Caldwell, will give the heave-ho to Marrone on Monday.

So although we will not make a heavy recommendation on this, it's more than likely "name the score" time in Indy on Sunday so we lay the points against a team that has one of the worst defenses in the NFL in a number of categories, including yards allowed (dead last).

<p>Bezos and his creation (Amazon) has an effect of the daily lives of tens - or even hundreds - of millions. Trump, like Bezos, has been a Person of the Year in the past. But we're not sure that his recent declaration for president is going to be the thing that has enough of a considerable effect, even after creating a "cause celebre" with his (in his view) persecution by a liberal Manhattan judge.</p>



<p>Musk, the 2021 recipient, is the justifiable favorite. Even though his purchase of Twitter was finalized in 2022, the sweeping changes he is making are the source of much controversy as they seek to transform the way that free speech is, for lack of a better word, governed in the social media world. It is a powerful and influential platform to control.</p>



<p>Musk, it goes without saying, also makes news with anything he does with SpaceX, and he was one of the original founders of Open AI, which, through Chat GPT and other offerings, will change the world. Musk is no longer associated with that business, which has moved from non-profit to for-profit status, but he does have some AI interests of his own, as they relate to Tesla, and when he speaks about the potential benefits and dangers of artificial intelligence, people are listening.</p>
