<p>Game three of the Western Conference Finals is set for Tuesday night when the Vegas Golden Knights visit the Dallas Stars. If the first two games were any indication, this is going to be a long, tough, series. Below is my NHL pick for the Vegas Golden Knights vs Dallas Stars.</p>

<p>It was not an easy task, but the Golden Knights were able to hold on to home ice advantage with two tough wins over the weekend. Vegas has now won four straight games, dating back to their second-round elimination of Edmonton, and the Golden Knights will like their chances heading into Dallas.</p>



<p>Game two was a fun one that got started early with a Dallas goal less than three minutes into the first period. Vegas tied the game up midway through the period and it was tied at one heading into the second. Dallas scored the only goal of the second period and held that 2-1 lead for a long time. With 2:22 remaining in regulation, Vegas flipped one on net and sent the game to overtime. Just 1:12 into the overtime period, Chandler Stephenson won the game for Vegas, 3-2, and gave the Golden Knights a 2-1 series lead.</p>



<p>Stephenson was joined on the scoresheet by Jonathan Marchessault, who sent the game to overtime, and Mark Stone. Six different Vegas players recorded an assist on the day.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-dallas-stars-have-hit-a-bit-of-a-slump">The Dallas Stars Have Hit A Bit of a Slump</h2>



<p>Dallas was able to finish off the Kraken in seven games, but they have now lost three of their last four games and need to win both of their home games. The Stars are one deflection, shot, or pass away from leading this series 2-0, so they will feel they are still very much in this series.</p>



<p>Miro Heiskanen and Jason Robertson both scored for Dallas in the loss. Three different Stars players recorded at least one assist on the day.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-dallas-stars-will-be-hurting-after-game-one"><a></a>Dallas Stars Will Be Hurting After Game One</h2>



<p>Dallas needed seven games to beat those pesky Seattle Kraken and they had three days off before starting the Western Conference Finals. It was a good start for the Stars in game one, but the result did not go the way the Dallas fans would have hoped.</p>



<p>Game one got started with Dallas taking a late first period lead and it stayed the way for half of the second period. Vegas got on the board 9:17 into the second period and the game was tied at one going into the final 20 minutes. The teams exchanged four goals in one of the more entertaining periods of the postseason. Vegas grabbed the lead 1:19 into the third period, but Dallas answered right back with a goal three minutes later. The Golden Knights again took the lead, 3-2, but a Stars goal with under two minutes to go sent this game to overtime. Brett Howden scored just 95 seconds into the overtime period to give the Golden Knights the 4-3 victory and a 1-0 series lead.</p>



<p>Jason Robertson, Roope Hintz, and Jamie Benn all got on the scoresheet for Dallas. Three different Stars players recorded at least one assist in the defeat.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-vegas-golden-knights-are-on-a-hot-streak">Vegas Golden Knights Are on A Hot Streak</h2>



<p>Vegas will be happy with their start to this series but won’t be happy that they blew two leads in the third period. The Golden Knights will have to clean that up if they want to win the Stanley Cup, but a win is a win, and they won’t be apologizing for that.</p>



<p>In the game one victory, William Karlsson, two goals, was joined on the scoresheet by Teddy Blueger, and Brett Howden. Seven different Golden Knights recorded at least one assist on the night.</p>
