Two teams looking for a second strong performance
Baltimore scored 41 points in a 41–23 win at Indianapolis, then fell 24–17 at home to New Orleans. The Ravens have already produced the kind of scoring performance that could put pressure on Dallas, but their second outing was far less convincing. In Rio, they need to recover the threat they showed in the opener without allowing the game to become entirely dependent on matching Dallas through the air.
The Cowboys lost 28–20 at the Giants before beating Washington 37–20 at AT&T Stadium. That was the offensive response Dallas needed, and the defense also gave up eight fewer points than in the opener. Now the Cowboys leave Texas for Brazil. Their latest victory gives them momentum to build on, but Sunday's venue removes the familiar surroundings of their home stadium.
Henry tests Dallas on the ground
Baltimore averages 155 rushing yards per game, while Dallas has allowed 173.5. Henry already has 212 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Sustaining that production would give the Ravens a way to shape the game around their ground attack. Dallas has a dangerous answer: Prescott has six touchdown passes and CeeDee Lamb has 197 receiving yards through two games.
Injury news
Ravens Zay Flowers, Ronnie Stanley, Trey Hendrickson and Malaki Starks are among those questionable. Dallas has ruled out P.J. Locke, Cobie Durant, Malik Hooker and DeMarvion Overshown. These are Friday's reported designations, with final active rosters still to come.
BTB Betting Pick
Winner pick: Baltimore Ravens. Spread: Pass. Total: Pass.
Baltimore is the narrow winner pick. The Ravens' opening road victory showed their scoring potential, although the drop against New Orleans keeps this from being a strong-margin call. Dallas is coming off the better immediate result and has enough recent scoring to make the game competitive.
The spread and total are passes. Both teams have followed very different paths across their first two games; Dallas repeating its 37-point performance would put considerable pressure on Baltimore to regain its opening form.
