<p>The NFL betting action continues Sunday, September 26, 2021, with plenty of interesting Week 3 matchups on the schedule, so here’s the best Chargers vs. Chiefs betting pick for the AFC West showdown at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.&nbsp;</p>



<p>The Chiefs opened as firm 6.5-point favorites with a total of 55.5 points on <a href="https://www.bangthebook.com/sportsbooks/bookmaker/">Bookmaker Sportsbook</a>. Last season, these two divisional foes split their two-game series, and the Chargers smashed the Chiefs in Kansas City, 38-21, playing as 6.5-point road underdogs.</p>



<h2><strong>The Chargers need better discipline&nbsp;</strong></h2>



<p>The Los Angeles Chargers (1-1; 1-1 ATS) are coming off a 20-17 home loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2, as Greg Zuerlein made a 56-yards field goal as time expired at SoFi Stadium. Justin Herbert completed 31 of his 41 passing attempts for 338 yards and a TD, but the sophomore QB also had a couple of costly interceptions.</p>



<p>Furthermore, the Chargers committed a whopping 12 penalties for 99 yards, and the vast majority of those mistakes were pretty much terrible. Los Angeles went 1-for-4 in the red zone and had to settle down for just a couple of field goals in the second half.</p>



<p>The Chargers struggled defensively, too, surrendering 198 rushing yards to the Cowboys (6.4 yards per carry). They picked off Dak Prescott once, but it was a poor display in general, and the Chargers will have to improve a lot in further days in order to mount a serious playoff challenge.</p>



<h2><strong>The Chiefs need more from their defense&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></h2>



<p>The Kansas City Chiefs (1-1; 0-2 ATS) suffered a painful 36-35 defeat at M&amp;T Bank Stadium in Baltimore last Monday. It was Patrick Mahomes’ first loss in September after 11 consecutive victories, as his team blew an 11-point lead in the fourth quarter.</p>



<p>The Chiefs controlled the game through the first three periods, but they gave up a couple of unanswered touchdowns to Lamar Jackson in the final 15 minutes. Kansas City struggled mightily on the defensive end, allowing a whopping 251 rushing yards to the shorthanded Ravens’ backfield.</p>



<p>Patrick Mahomes finished with 343 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception, completing 24 of his 31 passing attempts. Travis Kelce had seven receptions for 109 yards and a TD, but the Chiefs ran the ball just 18 times for 62 yards. Back in Week 1, they beat Cleveland 33-29 at home, tallying only 73 rushing yards and allowing 153 in a return.</p>

<p>The Chiefs have dominated the Chargers over the last seven years, going 12-2 straight up and 9-5 ATS in the process. They must be fired up to bounce back from a tough loss at Baltimore, so I’m backing the Chiefs to extend their dominance over the Chargers and beat them by at least a touchdown.</p>



<p>Also, the Chiefs will seek revenge for that heavy home loss to the Chargers in 2020. It was in Week 16, and the Chiefs had nothing to play for, but this time around, the stake is huge even though it’s Week 3.</p>



<p><strong>Pick: Take Kansas City Chiefs -6.5 at -110&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p>

<p>Both teams have shown a lot of defensive flaws through the first two weeks, and with all their offensive weapons available for Week 3, I’m taking the over as my best Chargers vs. Chiefs betting pick.</p>



<p>The Chargers are yielding 162 rushing yards per game, while the Chiefs are surrendering 202. Although both teams lean on their passing game, they shouldn’t have any problems moving the ball on the ground against each other. The over has hit in four of the last six encounters between the Chargers and Chiefs.</p>

The game’s total score of 243 points exceeded the O/U line of 224.5 by 18.5 points.</p> <p>After a rough start, trailing 37-26 after the 1st quarter, the Knicks bounced back with a strong 2nd quarter, outscoring Detroit 37-22. However, a 10-0 run by the Pistons in the 3rd quarter put New York in a hole, and despite a 29-29 4th quarter, the Knicks couldn’t close the gap.</p><p>Jalen Brunson's 31-point, 11-assist performance wasn't enough for the Knicks in their 124-119 loss to the Pistons. Brunson shot 50% from the field and added 12 points in the 4th quarter. Mikal Bridges hit 6 threes at a 75% clip, finishing with 27 points, 11 of which came in the 3rd quarter.</p> <p>Karl-Anthony Towns contributed 26 points and 12 rebounds, connecting on 4 threes. The Knicks made 15 threes as a team, shooting 40.5% from deep and 50% overall from the field.</p><p>Defensively, the Knicks had a strong 2nd quarter, holding the Pistons to 22 points, but they struggled in the 1st and 3rd quarters, giving up 37 and 36 points, respectively, in a 124-119 loss. Overall, New York allowed Detroit to shoot 50% from the field.</p> <p>The Knicks also gave up 15 threes, with the Pistons hitting 44% from deep. Detroit went to the line 18 times, making 17 free throws. New York finished with 32 defensive rebounds, allowing 11 offensive boards, and recorded 5 steals and 2 blocks.</p><h3>Are Philadelphia Ready for a Home Win?</h3><p>The 76ers dropped to 15-23 on the season after a 118-102 home loss to the Thunder on Tuesday. Philadelphia entered the game as +16 point underdogs, and the final score resulted in a push. The over/under line was set at 214, and the teams combined for 220 points.</p> <p>Oklahoma City went on an early 11-0 run, extending the score from 12-9 to 20-12. Philadelphia responded by winning the 2nd quarter 22-21 and the 3rd quarter 38-29, closing the gap to 87-81. However, the Thunder took control again in the 4th, outscoring the 76ers 31-21 to seal the win.</p><p>In their 118-102 loss to the Thunder, the 76ers struggled offensively, shooting 44% from the field and just 29.5% from beyond the arc, hitting 13 threes. Justin Edwards led the way with 25 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists, connecting on 4 threes at a 44.4% rate.</p> <p>Jeff Dowtin contributed 18 points, with 10 coming in the 3rd quarter, while Guerschon Yabusele added 17 points and 7 rebounds, shooting 66.7% from the floor and hitting 3 threes at 60%. Ricky Council also chipped in 7 of his 13 points in the 3rd quarter.</p><p>Defensively, the 76ers struggled in the 1st quarter, giving up 37 points, but tightened up in the 2nd, allowing just 21. However, they couldn't maintain that momentum, allowing 29 points in the 3rd and 31 in the 4th, resulting in a 118-102 loss to the Thunder.</p> <p>Philadelphia allowed Oklahoma City to shoot 55% from the field, though they limited the Thunder to 12 made threes on 33% shooting. The 76ers sent the Thunder to the line 18 times, where they made 16 free throws. Philadelphia also gave up 10 offensive rebounds while recording 10 steals and 1 block.</p>

New York Knicks vs Philadelphia 76ers Betting Pick & Prediction 1/15/25

<p>At 10:30 ET, the Brooklyn Nets (14-26) will travel to take on the Los Angeles Clippers (21-17) in a non-conference matchup. The Clippers (-994) are favored by 14.5 points over the Nets (+648). The over/under line for this game is 212.5 points.</p>

The total score of 246 points easily surpassed the pre-game O/U line of 219.5.</p> <p>A pivotal 13-0 run early in the game helped the Nets take control, turning a 36-30 deficit into a 43-36 lead. After a 31-26 2nd quarter in favor of Portland, Brooklyn responded by outscoring the Blazers 32-27 in the 3rd and 34-26 in the 4th.</p><p>The Nets put up 132 points in their win over the Trail Blazers, shooting 54.4% from the field and hitting 19 threes at a 46.3% clip. Cameron Johnson led the way with 24 points, while Noah Clowney and Keon Johnson each added 20.</p> <p>Clowney knocked down 4 threes, shooting 57.1% from deep, and Keon Johnson hit 3 threes at 50%. Clowney scored 8 points in the 3rd quarter, and D'Angelo Russell added 7 of his 13 points in the final period.</p><p>Even with a rough start, the Nets' defense tightened up in the 2nd half, giving up just 27 points in the 3rd quarter and 26 in the 4th, helping them secure the win. Overall, they allowed 114 points on 45% shooting from the field.</p> <p>Brooklyn struggled to defend the perimeter, as the Trail Blazers hit 17 threes at a 44% clip. The Nets sent Portland to the line 24 times, where they made 19 free throws. Defensively, the Nets recorded 11 steals and 2 blocks.</p><h3>Can the Clippers Lock in a Home Win?</h3><p>The Clippers improved to 21-17 on the season with a 109-98 win over the Heat on Monday. Playing at home, Los Angeles covered the -8.5 point spread, while the game’s total of 207 points fell short of the 216.5 O/U line.</p> <p>After trailing 35-28 at the end of the 1st quarter, the Clippers’ defense tightened up, holding Miami to 13 points in the 2nd. An 11-0 run helped them take control, and they outscored the Heat 36-20 in the 3rd quarter. Both teams scored 30 points in the 4th, but the Clippers had already built a 79-68 lead heading into the final period.</p><p>Norman Powell and James Harden combined for 11 three-pointers in the Clippers' win over the Heat, with Powell hitting 5 at a 62.5% rate and Harden connecting on 6 at 60%. Powell finished with 29 points, 11 of which came in the 3rd and 4th quarters, while Harden added 26 points, including 13 in the 3rd.</p> <p>Ivica Zubac contributed 21 points and 20 rebounds, shooting 76.9% from the field. The Clippers made 13 threes as a team, shooting 36.1% from beyond the arc and 48.4% overall.</p><p>Despite a rough 1st quarter where they gave up 35 points, the Clippers’ defense tightened up, allowing just 13 points in the 2nd quarter and 20 in the 3rd, helping them secure a win over the Heat. Overall, they held Miami to 98 points on 38% shooting.</p> <p>From beyond the arc, the Heat hit 17 threes at a 32% clip. The Clippers sent Miami to the line 18 times, where they made 15 free throws. Los Angeles also recorded 11 steals and 6 blocks in the game.</p>

Brooklyn Nets vs Los Angeles Clippers Betting Pick & Prediction 1/15/25

<p>While NASCAR is dominated by oval racing, the 2023 schedules road and street circuits have taken the spotlight, providing exciting and unpredictable racing and results.</p>



<p>Shane Van Gisbergen and a host of road course ringers added significant competition for the Cup Series regulars, many of whom demonstrated NASCAR's "full-contact" nature.</p>



<p>In the end, Michael McDowell scored his second top-five finish and first win this season at Indy, while Chase Elliott, Daniel Suárez, Tyler Reddick, and Alex Bowman rounded out the top-five finishers.</p>



<p>This weekend, the Cup Series heads to the legendary Watkins Glen International for the final road course race before the playoffs begin, with a fan-favorite with a winning pedigree in New York and outside the playoffs among the betting favorites.</p>

<p>While Reddick dominated the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas (CoTA), his performances at Chicago and Sonoma were disappointing. However, Reddick scored his second road course top-five of the season, finishing fourth last weekend at Indy.</p>



<p>Reddick should finish in the top five and be in the mix for the win in the dying laps.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-a-j-allmendinger-1200">A.J. Allmendinger (+1200)</h3>



<p>Kaulig Racing's A.J. Allmendinger has won at Watkins Glen on the Xfinity and back in 2014 on the Cup Series. While a background in open-wheel racing has Allmendinger at home on road and street circuits, 2023 hasn't been kind, with his best street course finish being sixth.</p>



<p>However, Allmendinger finished second at Watkins Glen last season and should be fighting for the win on Sunday.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-martin-truex-jr-700">Martin Truex Jr. (+700)</h3>



<p>Cup Series Drivers' Championship leader Martin Truex Jr's incredible season continued at Indy, where his seventh-place finish was his fifth consecutive and 14th top-ten finish this year.</p>



<p>On road courses in 2023, Truex Jr. has two top-ten finishes, including his win at Sonoma, and should be among your picks to finish in the top ten and top five, while he'll be in tough to land on Victory Lane over the Hendrick Motorsports duo atop the betting favorites.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-daniel-suarez-1100">Daniel Suárez (+1100)</h3>



<p>Trackhouse Racing's Daniel Suárez earned his betting favorite status with his performance at Indy's Road Course. Before Indy, Suárez hadn't cracked the top 20 on road courses this season. However, Suárez changed that by capturing the pole position for Indy and finishing third, shooting himself up the odds.</p>



<p>Suárez is just on the outside of the playoffs and needs his first win of the season to solidify a place to chase the Drivers' Championship and will need to improve on one top-ten finish in the last two races at Watkins Glen.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-team-hendrick-motorsports">Team Hendrick Motorsports</h2>



<p>Team Hendrick Motorsports have won the last four races at Watkins Glen, with two of the team's drivers among the betting favorites this weekend.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-kyle-larson-500">Kyle Larson (+500)</h3>



<p>Winning the previous two editions of a race should make you the betting favorite in most situations. Kyle Larson has won back-to-back races at Watkins Glen (2021, 2022) and has three top-ten finishes in four road course races this season.</p>



<p>With two race wins and twelve top-ten finishes, Larson should be competing for the win on Sunday.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-chase-elliott-375">Chase Elliott (+375)</h3>



<p>While Kyle Larson's recent history at Watkins Glen is impressive, it's superseded by teammate Chase Elliott. Elliott has finished in the top five in NASCAR'S last four trips to Watkins Glen, including back-to-back wins in 2018 and 2019.</p>



<p>A race win is Elliott's only pathway into the NASCAR playoffs, having missed six weeks of the season, and Watkins Glen is his best chance.</p>
