Key Questions for 2008 Season:
• Chad Pennington or Kellen Clemens can one of them lead this team?
• Will the new offensive line gel to open holes for the running game and give the QB time to throw?
• Can Veteran imports Kris Jenkins, Calvin Pace along with Gholston bolster a poor run defense?
Rookie on the Spot: Hybrid player Vernon Gholston who can play linebacker or defensive end in the Jets' 3-4 scheme, will have the chance to make an immediate impact. The New York Jets will likely give him reps at defensive end and outside linebacker in camp in an attempt to rotate him in as much as possible to maximize his value throughout his rookie season.
Fantasy Sleeper Pick: Running back Thomas Jones isn't much of a sleeper but after a poor season scoring only 1 touchdown he will slip in many drafts around the world. With the addition of fullback Tony Richardson, and two veteran offensive lineman the Jets may have one of the best offensive lines in the game. Eye him as a productive second running back, and enjoy his increased production this year.
2008 Prediction: The Jets still have holes on both sides of the ball despite landing a number of veteran players to the team in the offseason and they need to work on finding a long-term solution at quarterback. Competing in a division with the
New England Patriots and scrappy
Buffalo Bills doesnt help. Look for marked improvement but the Jets will still be on the outside looking in.
Prediction 8-8 3rd place AFC East
